The Development of EFL Lexical Competence through the Use of Computer Assisted Language Learning in Qassim University

The current study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) on vocabulary learning and its perceived benefits challenges among Saudi learners English as a foreign language (EFL). 64 homogeneous male female participants were selected assigned experimental control groups with equal numbers. group was taught using Blackboard Collaborate Ultra supplementary online website, while traditional face-to-face (FTF) approach. treatment lasted for 8 weeks. Both took pre- post-tests achievement. Based descriptive statistics, independents samples t-test, paired outperformed group. However, there no significant difference in test performance between allocated follow-up interview revealed several this approach their development though few students pointed at some that hinder them from making good use technology enhancing vocabulary.
